Nachos that started off as fried tortilla chips with cheese and jalapenos in 1940 have become a popular snack now. Nachos are a Mexican delicacy and served globally. They are made with fried tortilla chips, salsa, cheese and toppings of choice. Try this yummilicious nacho recipe to enjoy with your favorite movie!

Ingredients

    • Water1 Cup
    • Rice flour1 Cup
    • SaltTo Taste
    • Turmeric powder1/2 Teaspoon
    • Milk1 Cup
    • Mozarella and cheddar cheese1 Cup
    • Black pepper1/2 Teaspoon
    • Oregano1/2 Teaspoon
    • SaltTo Taste
    • Turmeric powderA pinch
    • Coriander Leaves1/2 Cup
    • Tomatoes chopped1 - 2
    • Onion chopped1 - 2
    • Green chilies chopped1 - 2
    • Black pepperTo Taste
    • SaltTo Taste
    • Lemon1
    • Sweet cornAs required
    • JalapenosAs required

Preparation

  • To prepare nachos, add water and rice flour to a deep pan and combine well on low flame.
  • Take the mixture out in a bowl.
  • Add salt, turmeric and knead well to form a soft dough.
  • Sprinkle some dry flour on a flat surface and roll out the dough to half a centimeter thick.
  • Cut the excess off the corners to get a rectangular shape.
  • Sprinkle flour and cut 2 inches thick strips from the flattened dough.
  • Make triangle shaped nachos and prick them with a fork
  • Fry on medium heat till they become golden and crisp.
  • Alternatively, you can bake them in the oven for 20 minutes at 180C.
  • To prepare cheese sauce, pour milk in a saucepan.
  • Add mozzarella and cheddar cheese, black pepper, oregano, salt, turmeric and whisk properly.
  • Stir the sauce until it thickens.
  • For the salsa, add coriander, chopped tomatoes, onions, green chilies, salt, pepper and lemon juice in a salad bowl. Mix well.
  • For assembling, place the nachos in a plate.
  • Pour the cheese sauce on Nachos.
  • Add salsa and sweet corn on top.
  • Garnish with jalapenos and more cheese sauce.
