Best Food For Healthy Skin

Pimples and blemishes are every girl’s worst nightmare. To get rid of that, we throw cash on every ointment and every dermatologist who gives us hopes of an improved skin. The main cause of most of these skin disorders is the kind of food we eat and the junk food we are addicted to that continuously destroys our health. And while there are plenty of cosmetics that work as skin food, their results are only temporary. In order to make the results of a fresh looking skin everlasting, you need to have the following foods included in your diet, so that they cleanse your body and make you look fresher than ever before:

EGGS
Also known as ‘Super Food’, eggs are that one food in the modern diet that are excessively high on nutrients. A single boiled egg contains vitamin A, B5, B12, B2, D, B6, E and K and also has a good amount of calcium and zinc. It is known to improve the health of ones heart, and is also very filling which reduces your chances of over eating. As a result, these nutrients and benefits lead to the construction of a beautiful and glowing skin. You can add eggs in your diet by having them during breakfast as boiled eggs, omelet or Shakshuka.

SPINACH
Green leafy vegetables are great for the skin and spinach trumps them all. It contains nutrients that cure acne, protects one from the harsh rays of the sun, controls aging (wrinkles), improves complexion, and since its high on vitamin A and C, it repairs the skin from its true core. You can easily add spinach in your diet by making Palak Daal, Palak Paneer, Palak Gosht and Lauki Palak for lunch or dinner and enjoy these benefits.

DETOX WATER
Such a drink works like magic; it will make you question all the concealers that you’ve been using. Add a few slices of citrus fruits or apples along with mint leaves in a water bottle and replace it with your regular water consumption. This will not only make you look good, but it will also make you feel good and cleanse your body from the inside out.

FISH
We now understand what Eric Rupert meant by ‘The fish is the star of the plate.’ To follow a healthy lifestyle, you must add fish to your diet and consume it at least twice a week as a proper meal. You can do that by making Balti fish, Pan-seared fish, Fish kebabs, Fish steak, Fish burger, Sushi or in any other form. The omega-3 fats in fish help boost collagen production for healthy skin and hair, and may even provide a degree of protection from harmful UV rays.

GREEN TEA
Research has shown that 5-6 cups of green tea a day helps prevent skin cancer and also repairs damaged DNA. However, over-doing it might lead to dehydration which will have the opposite effects on the skin. Vitamin B2 and E are extremely essential to rejuvenate the skin, and green tea is high on both and additionally, also works as an antibacterial agent for treating acne and unclogged pores.

CARROTS
Increased metabolism, improved vision, improved skin disorders, boosted immune system, reduced cancer risk, lowered cholesterol and strengthened brain function are all the health benefits of carrots. In order to enjoy all of these benefits, you must add carrots to your diet.  You can do that by making salad, Gajar ka Halwa, or any other dish you find delicious.

So get that perfect skin by adding these items to your daily diet, and see yourself glow in no time!

Being a Pakistani, food has always been my comforter, be it me getting happy over a happy meal or my father asking me to go to school just to get sweets in return. Food is not just about eating, its a sentiment that connects people with each other. I started writing for Food Tribune because of my love for food.
