Grated carrots cooked in a certain amount of milk, water and sugar. It is also known as Gajrela, it originated from the subcontinent and is served best when hot. The gooey texture of this dessert makes it so special. It is mostly cooked in Winters and in special occasions such as Eid etc.

Ingredients

    • Milk1 cup
    • Carrots, grated1 KG
    • SaffronA pinch
    • Oil1 cup
    • Sugar1 cup
    • Khoya250 grams

Preparation

  • In a pot, pour in milk and simmer for 5 - 10 minutes.
  • Add grated carrots and mix well.
  • Stir occasionally and cook on low flame until milk dries. Then add a pinch of saffron and stir.
  • Pour in oil and sugar and mix well.
  • Add in khoya and stir.
