Chicken Kachori

Pakistani street food is a combination of taste and colours. The most famous one being, Kachori. Originated from Marwar, India, Chicken Kachori is a golden brown crispiness cooked in Flour and stuffed with chicken. It is a delicious option for iftar specially when served with Mint chutney.

Ingredients

    • Onions, Chopped1
    • Oil3 tablespoons
    • Tomatoes, Diced2
    • Coriander Seeds½ teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds½ teaspoon
    • Garam Masala½ teaspoon
    • Red Chili Powder1 teaspoon
    • Chicken Mince½ Kg
    • Ginger Garlic Paste1 teaspoon
    • CorianderFor garnish
    • Green Chilies, ChoppedFor garnish
    • All-Purpose Flour2 cups
    • SaltTo taste
    • Ghee½ cup
    • Oil1 tablespoon

Preparation

  • In a small pot, heat oil over medium flame and saute onions until translucent.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder and mix well.
  • Now add chicken mince and mix well.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped coriander, cool the filling and keep it aside.
  • In a bowl add all-purpose flour, salt, mix and make a well in the middle. Add ghee and mix.
  • In a small bowl combine all-purpose flour with oil and mix. Keep it aside.
  • Make a dough ball, roll the dough flat, spread the oil mixture and fold.
  • Then again roll the dough flat into a square shape, spread the oil mixture evenly, add filling.
  • Secure the kachori by pinching both sides firmly and twisting the top.
  • In a wok, heat oil over medium flame and fry the kachori until golden brown.
