Achari Chicken Salan

This delicious chicken salan is prepared with fragrant spices and is packed with delicious tangy flavors. It pairs perfectly with hot naan, thinly rolled chapatis or steamed rice.

 

Ingredients

    • Ghee1 cup
    • Kashmiri Red Chilli1 tablespoon
    • Onions, Medium2, sliced
    • Chicken1 KG
    • Ginger Paste1 teaspoon
    • Garlic Paste1 teaspoon
    • Turmeric Powder1 teaspoon
    • Garam Masala1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo taste
    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Royal Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Kalonji1 teaspoon
    • Fenugreek Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Tomatoes2, diced
    • Yogurt1 cup

Preparation

  • In a large pot, add ghee and kashmiri red chilli. Saute.
  • Then add onions and saute until brown.
  • Add chicken and mix well until it changes color.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Then add turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, royal cumin seeds, kalonji, fenugreek seeds and mix well.
  • Add dice tomatoes and mix well. Cover the lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Then add yogurt and mix well. Cover the lid and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
