Chicken Salan


A delicious rich and creamy chicken curry popular across the subcontinent. Serve with various types of naan, thinly rolled chapati, or steaming rice- this dish can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

    • Oil2 – 3 tablespoon
    • Chicken1 KG
    • Ginger Paste1 teaspoon
    • Garlic Paste1 teaspoon
    • Onion Paste1 cup
    • Turmeric Powder½ teaspoon
    • Red Chilli Powder1 tablespoon
    • Garam Masala1 teaspoon
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Powder1 teaspoon
    • Mustard Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Fenugreek Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Yogurt1 cup
    • Green Chillies3 – 4
    • Kalonji1 teaspoon
    • CorianderFor garnish


  • In a pot add oil, chicken, ginger-garlic paste and mix.
  • Then add onion paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder and mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Then add in mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds and mix well.
  • Pour in yogurt and give it a mix, until it mixes with the gravy.
  • Then add green chillies and kalonji. Garnish with coriander.
