Chicken Aloo Salan

    • Chicken meat750 grams
    • Ghee2 – 3 tablespoons
    • Oil2 tablespoons
    • Onion, sliced2
    • Cumin seeds½ teaspoon
    • Coriander seeds½ teaspoon
    • Peppercorn½ teaspoon
    • Ginger garlic paste1 teaspoon
    • Tomato, diced3
    • Saltto taste
    • Red chili powder1 tablespoon
    • Turmeric powder1 teaspoon
    • Ground coriander1 teaspoon
    • Ground cumin1 teaspoon
    • Tomato paste1 tablespoon
    • Wateras per needed
    • Potato, cut into halves4 – 5
    • Green chilies4 – 5


  • In a large pot, heat ghee with oil and saute onions until golden brown.
  • Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorn, chicken, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add diced tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin and mix well.
  • Add tomato paste, water and mix well.
  • Add potatoes, stir, cover, simmer for 10 minutes until the chicken and potatoes are cooked.
  • Add green chilies and cover again for 5 minutes.
