Mutton Boti Salan


A mouth-watering delicacy that is popular in India and Pakistan. Mutton leg cooked in a variety of spices with a gravy formed through yoghurt and milk. It is mostly cooked on big occasions like Eid.

    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Cloves½ teaspoon
    • Yellow Mustard Seeds½ teaspoon
    • Cardamom5 – 6
    • Garlic Paste1 teaspoon
    • Ginger Paste1 teaspoon
    • WaterAs required
    • Cinnamon1 stick
    • Onion1, sliced
    • Mutton½ KG
    • Oil4 – 5 tablespoon
    • Onions3 – 4, sliced
    • SaltTo taste
    • CorianderFor Garnish


  • In a blender add red chilli powder, cumin seeds, cloves, yellow mustard seeds, cardamom, garlic paste, ginger paste, water and blend it all together.
  • Then add cinnamon stick, sliced onion, add water if needed and blend again until it forms a paste like structure.
  • In a mixing bowl add mutton and pour the blended masala over it and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  • In a wok add oil and saute the onions until they turn brown.
  • Add marinated mutton, salt and mix well.
  • Add water and mix well and let it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until meat becomes tender.
  • Garnish with coriander.
