Ingredients

    • Oil6-7 tablespoons
    • Onion1-2, sliced
    • Cumin seeds1 teaspoon
    • Cardamom4-5
    • Garam Masala1 tablespoon
    • Whole Red Chilli1 tablespoon
    • Potatoes1-2, sliced
    • WaterAs required
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Powder1 teaspoon
    • Whole garam masala1 teaspoon
    • Chicken stock½ liter
    • Green chilies4-5
    • Chickpeas1 KG, soaked
    • Cinnamon1 stick
    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • Rice1 KG, soaked

Preparation

  • In a large pot heat oil, add sliced onions and fry till they are brown.
  • Add cumin seeds, cardamom, garam masala, whole red chili, potatoes and mix well for 5 minutes.
  • Add water, cover the lid and let it simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  • Then add coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chicken stock, green chilies, stir well, cover the lid and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes.
  • Add soaked chickpeas and stir.
  • Then, add cardamom stick, red chili powder and mix well.
  • Add soaked rice and mix well for two minutes. Cover the lid and let it simmer for 8-10 minutes.
