Karachi Eat Food Festival is a dream come true for all foodies out there. If you are looking for a place where you can get a combination of sweet, savoury and delicious food, this festival should be your go-to. We had the opportunity to try out some of eateries and here are our thoughts:
1) Delina
The newly introduced ‘Hot Mess’ dessert included a base cake topped with whipped cream, lotus crumbs and was definitely true to its name. The presentation of the dish was innovative, interesting and definitely something new. If you have a sweet-tooth, this dish is definitely suitable for your taste. However, we felt it was missing something to subside the extreme sweetness the dish entailed.

2) Red Volks
We had the opportunity to try the Loaded Fries introduced by Red Volks, and boy – were they loaded! They included fries topped with thinly sliced beef, olives and a combination of sauces that added to its spiciness. The dish was filling, delicious and definitely worth it!

3) Basic
We can definitely say authentic bao buns are finally in the city. Basic offered us a unique street food experience through their Fried Chicken Bao which was a combination of perfectly marinated chicken wrapped in the softest bun. The sauce on top added to the overall taste of the dish and it was definitely something we’d go for again!

4) Mac & Spud
We had the opportunity to try two different dishes at Mac & Spud. First was the Spud which included mashed potatoes with a unique topping, and second was the Peri Peri Mac & Cheese. The first dish did not click as much as the second dish mostly because it did not seem innovative to such a new extent, however, the mac n cheese was something to devour. It had the right amount of spices and taste to leave us wanting more.

5) 2 Guys 1 Grll
There really is no festival with a classic Chicken or Beef Donut Burger to fill your stomach up. 2 Guys 1 Grll never fails to disappoint and we do not regret going for this option every time Karachi Eat takes place. The burger is juicy, delicious and extremely creative!
Rating: 5/5
6) Churrosity
Even though churros may seem like something innovative from a few years ago, the strawberry and chocolate dip offered by Churrosity won our hearts! The dessert included the perfect amount of sweetness and is ideal for anyone craving something light, but sweet to end the night.
Rating: 5/5
7) Crust Bros
The Gold-Leaf Pizza offered by Crust Bros was definitely something new for us. The name attracted us to try out this spicy pizza topped with a mix of vegetables. However, there was not much uniqueness to it other than its name. Perhaps, it was after a whole day of eating, the dish did not feel it was as per our liking in the moment.
Rating: 3/5
Karachi Eat’20 was definitely something unique and we’d love to pay more eateries a visit. If you’re into food, this is your weekend to shine. If you’re also confused what to try out, we hope this helped to narrow down your long list. Happy eating!
