Shimla Chicken

A delectable combination of green bell pepper and chicken. It is scrumptious and healthy because of the way its cooked with minimum fat. This dish is perfectly stir fried in its own juices that keeps the flavor natural. Shimla chicken can be served with naan and rice.

Ingredients

    • Chicken boneless, cubes1 KG
    • Oil2 – 3 tablespoons
    • Ginger paste1 teaspoon
    • Garlic paste1 teaspoon
    • Tomato, chopped1 – 2
    • Coriander seeds½ teaspoon
    • Cumin seeds½ teaspoon
    • Saltto taste
    • Garam masala1 teaspoon
    • Ground black pepper1 teaspoon
    • Green chilies, sliced2
    • Tomato paste2 tablespoons
    • Capsicum, cubed2
    • Ginger juliennefor garnish
    • Freshly chopped corianderfor garnish

Preparation

  • Heat oil in a medium pot and stir fry cubed chicken until no longer pink.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, stir, and cover the lid for 3 minutes until the tomatoes are softened.
  • Add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, salt, garam masala, ground black pepper, sliced green chilies, tomato paste and mix.
  • Add cubed capsicum, stir, cover the lid and steam for 5 - 8 minutes.
  • Garnish with julienned ginger, freshly chopped coriander.
