Shami Kebab is a popular dish from the Pakistani, Indian cuisine. It is a delicious and hearty kebab dish made from grinding the meat along with onion, garlic clovesand khara masala (all-spices). The dish can be served along side daal chawal, pulao or can be eaten with daal roti and mint chutney.

Ingredients

    • Mutton mince500 grams
    • Water½ litre
    • Onion, diced2 – 3
    • Garlic cloves8 – 10
    • Whole spice1 tablespoon
    • Whole red chilli6 – 7
    • Coriander seeds1 tablespoon
    • Split chickpea lentil, pre-soaked1 cup
    • Green chilies, cut into half3 – 4
    • Coriander leaves, chopped1/2 bunch
    • Saltfor taste
    • Egg1
    • Bread slices4
    • Oilas per needed

Preparation

  • Add water, mutton qeema, cubed onions, garlic cloves, red whole chilli, whole spices, coriander seeds, and pre-soaked split chickpea lentil in a pot. Stir, cover, and cook until water has evaporated.
  • Grind the mixture along with chopped coriander, green chilies, salt, egg, and bread slices into a dough mixture.
  • Grease palm and make kebabs, forming a perfectly round shape.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the kebabs until each side is light brown.
