Sagudana Kheer


A dessert made from sago pearls or as it is called Tapioca pearls. It is a healthy dessert taken as a breakfast meal. Its health benefits are numerous as it is rich in calcium and iron. If given to kids it helps in their muscle building.

    • Milk1 litre
    • Saffron¼ teaspoon
    • Sugar1 cup
    • Cardamom powder1 teaspoon
    • Sagudana, soaked1 cup
    • Almonds, crushedfor garnish
    • Pistachio, crushedfor garnish


  • In a small pot add milk and bring a slow boil.
  • Then add saffron and stir well.
  • Add the sugar, cardamom powder and stir until it is dissolved.
  • Add soaked Sagudana and stir on low flame until the Kheer thickens.
  • Add the crushed almonds, crushed pistachios and stir again.
