Namkeen Karhai


Namkeen Karhai, which has nothing to do with salt, is a Peshawari dish and is cooked in typical pakhtun style. Even with the lack of spices, this dish is perfect in flavor. Pair it with Naan and enjoy.

    • Ghee1 cup
    • Chicken1 KG
    • Ginger Garlic Paste1 tablespoon
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Powder1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo taste
    • Black Pepper Powder1 teaspoon
    • Yogurt½ cup
    • Green Chillies1, thinly chopped
    • Cream2 tablespoon
    • Sesame Seeds½ teaspoon
    • CorianderFor garnish


  • In a large pot add ghee over medium heat. Then add chicken and stir.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Then add coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and mix well.
  • Add black pepper powder, yogurt and mix well. Add chopped green chillies and stir.
  • Add cream, sesame seeds and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander.
