A unique spin on seafood, these methi malai prawns were inspired by Hyderabadi methi chicken, and are perfect for anyone with an adventurous palate. These prawns are delicately spiced, and flavored with fresh fenugreek while maintaining a smooth and creamy texture.

Ingredients

    • Butter¼ stick
    • Oil4-5 tablespoons
    • Prawns½ KG
    • Garlic paste1 teaspoon
    • Ginger paste1 teaspoon
    • Onion1-2
    • Cumin seeds1 teaspoon
    • Cinnamon1 stick
    • Peppercorn½ teaspoon
    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo Taste
    • Garam Masala1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Powder1 teaspoon
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Water1 cup
    • Tomato Paste1 tablespoon
    • Coconut milk1 cup
    • Cream1 cup
    • Green chilies1
    • Fenugreek1 tablespoon
    • CorianderFor garnish

Preparation

  • In a pan, add butter, oil and stir till it melts.
  • Add de-veined prawns and mix well for 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic paste, ginger paste, mix it well and set the prawns aside.
  • In the same pan, add chopped onions and mix well for 5 minutes.
  • Add oil, cumin seeds and stir. Add cinnamon stick, peppercorn, cardamom and mix well.
  • Next, add red chili powder, salt, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well.
  • Add water in the pan, tomato paste and mix well for 5 minutes.
  • Then add coconut milk, cream and mix well.
  • Add chopped green chili and stir well, then add cooked prawns and mix well.
  • Add fenugreek and stir. Then cover the lid and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add coriander for garnish.

    Absolutely delicious. Subtle flavours. Very easy to put together. Will definitely put this recipe on a rotation schedule for quick easy mid meals
