Matar Paneer


A delicious North Indian vegetarian dish consisting of peas and paneer prepared in a tomato curry and lightly spiced with a combination of aromatic herbs and spices. Can be served with either rice or naan for the perfect lunch or dinner dish.

    • Oil2-3 tablespoons
    • Onion1-2
    • Yogurt1 cup
    • Cumin seeds1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo Taste
    • Whole Red Chilli4-5
    • Ketchup1 tablespoon
    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • Peas½ KG
    • Cream2 tablespoons
    • Tomato1
    • Green chilies3
    • Cooked paneer1 cup


  • Heat oil in a wok, add sliced onions and fry until brown.
  • Add yogurt and stir.
  • Add cumin seeds, salt, whole red chili and mix well.
  • Add ketchup and stir.
  • Stir in red chili powder and peas.
  • Next, stir in cream and diced tomatoes.
  • Add whole green chilies, cover with a lid and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Next, add cooked paneer and mix thoroughly.
