Makhni Daal Chana

Made from split chickpeas, this dish is both delicious and nutritious. Daal is often a staple in many South Asian households, and is a wonderful way to get those daily protein needs met. Served with either steamed basmati rice, thinly rolled chapati, or fluffy naan, this is a treat for your taste buds.

Ingredients

    • Oil2 – 3 tablespoons
    • Onion, sliced1
    • Butter2 tablespoon
    • Garlic paste½ tablespoon
    • Black pepper powder1 teaspoon
    • Saltto taste
    • Red chili powder1 teaspoon
    • Cumin powder1 teaspoon
    • Garam masala1 teaspoon
    • Chili flakes1 teaspoon
    • Turmeric powder1 teaspoon
    • Chickpea split, soaked½ KG
    • Wateras per needed
    • Fresh cream½ cup
    • Coriander, choppedfor garnish

Preparation

  • In a pot heat oil over medium flame and saute onions until translucent.
  • Then add butter, garlic paste and mix.
  • Now add black pepper, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chili flakes, turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Then add split chickpea lentils and mix well.
  • Add water, cover the lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
  • Add cream and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander.
