Lauki ka halwa is an Indian and Pakistani sweet dish made with grated bottle gourd along with dry fruits and sugar. It is an evergreen halwa that people love to have. A treat to your sweet tooth served at the time of family gatherings.

Bottle guard, cubes2
Clarified butter1 cup
Cashew nuts½ cup
Raisins½ cup
Milk1 cup
Condensed milk1 cup
Green color½ teaspoon
Cardamom powder½ teaspoon
Sugar½ cup
Almondsfor garnish
Pistafor garnish
Silver paperfor garnish
Preparation
First cut both ends of the bottle gourd, then de-seed it.
Following this, cut them into cubes.
Now grind all the cubes in a grinder.
Heat clarified butter in a small pot over medium heat.
Roast the cashew nuts and raisins until they are light brown.
Add this into the grinded bottle guard and mix.
Now add milk, condensed milk, and food coloring. Stir well.
Add cardamom powder and mix.
Add sugar and mix well.
Cover the lid and simmer for 10 minutes until the bottle guard is cooked and milk has evaporated.
