Ingredients

    • Beef boneless1 KG
    • Bottle gourd½ kg
    • Oil3-4 tablespoons
    • Onion, sliced3
    • Ginger garlic paste1 tablespoon
    • Red chili powder1 tablespoon
    • Ground turmeric½ teaspoon
    • Ground cumin1 tablespoon
    • Ground coriander1 tablespoon
    • Garam masala½ teaspoon
    • Saltto taste
    • Peppercorn½ teaspoon
    • Yoghurt1/2 cup
    • Water½ litre
    • Green chilies3
    • Green chiliesfor garnish
    • Fresh coriander, choppedfor garnish
    • Cloves1/2 teaspoon

Preparation

  • Heat the oil in a large pot and sauté onions until they are brown.
  • Add peppercorn, cloves, ginger garlic paste and stir-well.
  • Now add cubed beef, sauté until it is no longer pink.
  • Add the red chili powder, ground turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, salt and stir well.
  • Add the yogurt and mix well.
  • Then add the water and stir, cover the lid and cook for 15 minutes until the meat is tender.
  • Now add the cubed bottle gourd, green chilies and stir, cover the lid and cook for 8 minutes or until bottle gourd is cooked.
  • Garnish with the green chilies and chopped coriander.
