Hara Masala Aloo


Potatoes prepared in a delicious green curry made with mint, coriander, green chilies and lemon. This spicy potato dish is packed with flavor and can be enjoyed with naan or rice. It makes an excellent side-dish which can be served alongside lunch or dinner.

    • Green chilies3-4
    • Mint leaves½ bunch
    • Coriander leaves½ bunch
    • Lemon Juice2 tablespoons
    • Vinegar½ teaspoon
    • Wateras needed
    • Oil1 tablespoon
    • Cooking oil½ cup
    • Potato, sliced½ kg
    • Red chili flakes1 tablespoon
    • Saltto taste
    • Naan / paratha,for serving


  • Cut potatoes into round slices.
  • Heat oil in a medium pot over medium heat, add potatoes, and sauté.
  • Add chili flakes and salt for taste. Mix well.
  • For hara masala: add mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, oil, lemon juice, white vinegar, and water in a blender. Blend it into a smooth paste.
  • Add the hara masala in the potatoes, mix well, and cover the lid for about 5 minutes till potatoes are cooked and the water has evaporated.
  • Add butter, mix well and let it cook for 2 minutes. Then serve it with naan.
