Chicken Changezi

Originated from the Mughlai era, supposedly from the Genghis Khan rule, this dish is prepared with chicken cooked in milk, cream and spices. It is best served with Roomali roti or naan, but it also goes well with rice.

Ingredients

    • Chicken, Boneless½ KG
    • Red Chilli Powder1 teaspoon
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo taste
    • Lemon Juice1 tablespoon
    • Ginger Paste1 tablespoon
    • Garlic Paste1 tablespoon
    • Yogurt1 cup
    • Cream1 cup
    • Ketchup1 tablespoon
    • Ghee1 cup
    • Onion1, finely chopped
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cashew6 – 7
    • Dried Fenugreek Leaves1 teaspoon
    • Coriander½ bunch

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl add boneless chicken, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, yogurt, cream and ketchup.
  • Mix well until all the ingredients are combined together. And let it sit for about 20 minutes.
  • In a pan add ghee and saute the onions.
  • Now add marinated chicken and mix.
  • Add coriander powder, stir and simmer for 05 to 08 minutes.
  • Add cashews, dried fenugreek seeds, coriander and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander.
