A delicious pulav made with rice, spices and chickpeas is a hearty dish that is everyones favorite meal. This dish can be served with raita, salad at family dinners and lunch.

Ingredients
Basmati chawal, soaked½ kilo
Water1 liter
Saltto taste
Oil3 – 4 tablespoons
Onion, sliced2
Potato, cut into halves4 – 5
Red whole chili2 – 3
Ginger garlic paste1 teaspoon
Chicken stock½ liter
Whole spices1 tablespoon
Green chilies4 – 5
Ground white pepper1 teaspoon
Ground black pepper1 teaspoon
Chickpeas, pre boiled400 grams
Fried onionsfor garnish
Fresh coriander, choppedfor garnish
Preparation
Heat water in a large pot, add salt, soaked rice and boil until half of the rice is cooked. Strain and keep aside.
Heat oil in a large pot and saute onions until light brown.
Add potatoes, whole red chili, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Now add chicken stock, whole spices and stir.
Add green chilies, ground black pepper, ground white pepper, stir, cover the lid and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add boiled chickpeas, cover the lid and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.
Now add pre-boiled rice and mix.
Add fried onions, freshly chopped coriander, green chilies, cover with a cloth and steam for 8 minutes.
