Taro root is delicious and healthy, and when combined with tender and juicy mutton it lends this dish its unique flavor. Popular across the subcontinent for its health properties as well as its interesting taste, this dish is sure to impress anyone you serve it to.

 

Ingredients

    • Oil3 – 4 tablespoon
    • Onion, sliced2
    • Tomatoes, cubed2
    • Mutton, Boneless½ KG
    • Ginger garlic paste1 teaspoon
    • Yogurt½ cup
    • Cloves1 teaspoon
    • SaltTo taste
    • Red Chili Powder1 teaspoon
    • Turmeric1 teaspoon
    • Deghi Red Chili1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
    • Cumin powder1 teaspoon
    • Coriander Powder1 teaspoon
    • Cinnamon Sticks1 teaspoon
    • Peppercorn¼ teaspoon
    • WaterAs needed
    • Arvi, peeled½ KG
    • Green Chilies3 – 4
    • Coriander, choppedFor garnish

Preparation

  • In a large pot, heat oil, saute onions until brown.
  • Add tomatoes and mix.
  • Add mutton meat and mix vigorously. Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add yogurt and mix well.
  • Add cloves, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, deghi red chili powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, peppercorn and mix well.
  • Add water, stir, cover the lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add peeled arvi and mix.
  • Then add green chilies, cover the lid and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Now garnish with coriander.
